Course Description

This webinar will delve into the math behind the significant changes to the rules for retirement savings, required minimum distributions, and inherited retirement plans as a result of The SECURE Act. Take a fresh look at these changes with industry leaders from Alliance Bernstein, a world-renowned and highly respected investment management firm for high net worth families, who will share planning recommendations in the context of inflation, taxes, and investment strategies.

While many of these changes are favorable for retirement plan participants, the new post-death required minimum distribution rules may undermine many estate plans. In fact, retirement benefits represent more than 28% of U.S. household wealth, making them an important source of support for beneficiaries and families. Learn what to recommend to your clients, or what to do for yourself and your family. Join us for a discussion and analysis of the pre- and post-death planning implications of the SECURE Act with relatable case studies and in-depth research applied to the new regulations.

Learning Objectives:

Help you and your clients answer these critical questions:

  • What is tax deferral worth today?

  • Are Roth conversions valuable after the SECURE Act?

  • What are the trade-offs between conduit trusts and accumulation trusts?

  • What is the optional distribution strategy for inherited IRAs?

  • Are CRUTs the best solution for recreating stretch IRA benefits?
